About Me

LC was a nickname my buddy Clark started calling me in college. I always loved that name and think it is fitting that it shares the initials of my blog.

I am the daughter of a farmer and a nurse who came from humble beginnings. Together, they modeled this kind of living. I recently took a financial planning class and the teacher explained amortization schedules. No need...my dad was teaching me about that when I was about 10 years old. My mom made sure we had a pool membership every year but I rarely remember getting a treat from the snack bar...she packed that stuff! Growing up, we went to movies, for sure. We went to matinees and  brought our own popcorn and Sunkist. My mom taught/teaches me how to use coupons and my dad will learn how to do most anything before he pays someone. Dad retired when I was in college. I paid attention to that.

And so, they were bound to rub off on LC. Living consciously is about living with an awareness of what you have, what you need and love, avoiding wastefulness and being a good steward of your money so that you can be charitable. This is not a blog about recycling or zero-waste living, although I think those things are great. I will offer ideas from my work as a personal assistant and trade tips from working in the home organization business. The home page will show you all posts but if you are interested in a particular topic, just hit the tab that interests you at the top of the blog.

We get one life and I want to live it consciously.
